This versatile kit is a complete rescue system: the Capital Safety 8300030 Confined Space Retrieval Winch with 7 foot Aluminum Tripod. This kit includes the Salalift II winch with 60 feet of 1/4 inch galvanized cable(8102001), a 7 foot aluminum confined space tripod (8000000), and convenient storage bag for the winch.

This folding unit is extremely easy to setup and transport. To set up, simply unfold the legs over the opening and use the quick connect system to attach the winch.

The rated working load is 350 lbs. for work support (raising or lowering equipment) and 310 lbs. for fall arrest. The Salalift II winch is intended to be used in raising, lowering, work support or personnel rescue applications. The lightweight design includes corrosion resistant construction featuring anodized aluminum side plates, zinc plated gears and shafts, stainless steel springs and aluminum drum. The overload clutch in the winch reduces chance of injury to an entangled worker.

Meets or exceeds all applicable OSHA and ANSI standards.

The Capital Safety Salalift II Confined Space Retrieval Winch is a manually operated winch used to raise or lower personnel and materials from confined spaces or holes. Gear ratio is 6:1 with an average lifting speed of 12.75 ft/min. (no power source required). To operate, simply rotate the handle in the desired direction, to pull up or lower down.



 

The standard model 8102001 comes with 60 feet of 1/4 in. galvanized steel cable complete with the DBI "quick-mount" top-mounting bracket and a carrying bag. The bottom or base mounting bracket must be ordered separately to fit the application. This lightweight design weighs only 35 lbs.



 

A "free-wheel" mode is an operator-activated feature that allows the drum to rotate and cable to pay-out freely as the attached worker descends into the space or moves about within the space. In this mode the handle remains stationary. This "free-wheel" mode has a built-in over-speed brake with energy absorbing capacity (similar to self retracting lifelines), which provides secondary fall protection and added security. Operating the handle automatically puts you back in control. The built-in overload clutch automatically slips to prevent severe overloading or damage. This also helps prevent injury to entangled personnel while raising them back up.



 

The housing cover is made from a corrosion resistant, durable medium density polyethylene with a built-in ergonomic carrying handle. The housing material reduces weight and will not dent or corrode like other metal housings. The inner workings of the winch are also built to last, with anodized aluminum side plates, zinc plated gears and shafts, stainless steel springs and aluminum drum for superior dependability.



 

The swiveling self-locking snap hook provides a secure connection to the person or load and prevents the cable from twisting for a much smoother operation. An impact indicator enables the user to visually see if device has been impact loaded, in which case the unit will need to be sent into the manufacturer for inspection. A back up lifeline system allows the brake to activate and absorb energy if a fall occurs at the end of the lifeline travel. The SalaLift II meets or exceeds all industry regulations including OSHA and ANSI.

This 7 ft. aluminum tripod is lightweight and very portable. It is easy to set-up )can be done by just one worker!) and can be easily transported from one location to another.

Its adjustable, locking legs can be moved to the proper height quickly in increments of 2-3/4" for added versatility and are kept in position with locking D10 pins - adjusts from anywhere between 5 ft. and 7 ft. height and will span up to a 5 ft. diameter hole.

This tripod come complete with a safety chain to prevent movement and safety shoes that incorporate a rubber sole for flat surfaces and spiked edges for more slippery surfaces

The heat treated cast aluminum head incorporates a built-in pulley system to rout lifeline of mechanical device directly over opening. This helps keep the lifeline straight and also allows for the focal point to be even higher from the ground for great lifting ease. It is also equipped with drop forged steel eyebolts for use as anchorage point for secondary or back-up system. This design to allows the eyebolt to hand plumb regardless of surface configuration

Comes complete with a quick-mount leg bracket (8005048) for easy attachment of a DBI/SALA winch.

Additional (back-up) mechanical devices can be mounted to tripod with optional bracket/pulleys. Rated working load is 350 lbs. for work support and 310 lbs. for fall arrest. Weight and money savings in the Protecta AB17533 Fall Protection Harness with Shock Absorbing Lanyard. This single fall protection kit includes the full body harness, 6 foot shock absorbing lanyard and a heavy duty storage bag. The 5-point adjustable harness and lanyard weigh just 3.25 lbs. as a unit!


This Protecta brand AB17533 kit is from their FIRST line of economy fall protection products. With this combo they have removed the back d-ring on the harness and one of the snap hooks on the lanyard. Then the lanyard is looped through and sewn to the harness, making them one unit.

The big upside to all this is less weight, and less money (because 2 pieces of hardware are gone)!



Our customers have said for years that having a case or bag is a big deal to them; it keeps all the parts together, keeps them clean, and reduces the tangle that comes with a webbing harness. Some have used a small suitcase, others a gym or duffle bag. Protecta has provided a heavy weight nylon bag (looks like Cordura) that fits the whole assembly. The flap has a generous velcro closure, and the back has 2 nylon webbing loops with snaps. This can be carried on your belt or mounted on the forklift or bucket truck. While not waterproof, protection from the weather and sun will help keep your safety equipment investment protected.
