Demonstrating the DBI Shockwave type fall protection lanyard
In this video we will be demonstrating a shockwave type fall protection lanyard. After watching our earlier video of the restraint type lanyard fall demonstration, I’m sure you’ll agree that having a shock-absorbing feature is a must.
Fall protection is designed to serve two purposes: First to keep you from hitting the ground in the event of the fall, and second to keep the arresting forces on your body to a minimum. With just a restraint lanyard, you might experience as much as 4000 lbs or force on your body when you are jerked to a stop. The shock-absorbing feature on lanyards is designed to keep these forces to less than the OSHA mandated 1800 lbs. This video shows a simulated fall with a shockwave type lanyard, specifically the ShockWave2 1244306 shock-absorbing lanyard by Capital Safety.
